personal logo in progress

Last semester instead of doing a personal logo, we did a logo for an eco-friendly company. Over the break I have been doing some sketches and exploring fonts and such. Any feedback or suggestions would be VERY much appreciated.

The first are just a few different ideas I was playing with and the 2nd is what I am more leaning towards.

Q: Should my full name be incorporated in my logo?

I am super excited though because I ordered my portfolio box today :)

art to submit

I am thinking about submitting 2 pieces. We can do that right?

1st I want to submit my logo.

2nd I would like to submit my piggy bank that I made in 3D. It is made from over $20 in pennies (2000 pennies) glued together with hot glue. I am very proud of him. :)

call me crazy

but it works.

In the digital aquarium I couldn't get my envelope to take. SO. I came home and decided to try it here. Well, the envelope took but was crooked and almost ripped the flap off.

I then decided to try scotch-blue to tape the flap down. BINGO. The tape holds it down but comes right off without making a mark or ripping my paper. amazing! :)

I will try again at the digital aquarium tomorrow :)

This printer is so aggressive it totally jacked the front of the envelope. Hopefully the DA will be a little more gentle!

Stationery...

not necessarily my final layout and the paper is actually a light manila and is kinda speckled? dont know if thats the right word to use.

signage symbols

Signage symbols

reference from History of Graphic Design

it was interesting to look through these

and the award goes to...

So yesterday was amazing. I went to see Santanu Majumdar's presentation (which was excellent btw). After I went ahead to the DA and printed my calendar which was due at 5:30. After that Heath, Barron, and I went to lunch at eats and then went to utrecht, paper source, and sam flax. We went to barron's after finding our stationery so I could mount my boards. I mounted my boards and we headed to school. Upon arriving I could not find my boards anywhere... I called drew, barrons roomate, and he found them in the road... evidently I left them on top of the car. I had to print and mount again because not only were they beat up but literally also had tire tracks on them.

oh and my calendar was for the sporadic... go figure.

moral of the story: dont leave your boards on the roof of your car.
