art to submit

I am thinking about submitting 2 pieces. We can do that right?

1st I want to submit my logo.

2nd I would like to submit my piggy bank that I made in 3D. It is made from over $20 in pennies (2000 pennies) glued together with hot glue. I am very proud of him. :)

call me crazy

but it works.

In the digital aquarium I couldn't get my envelope to take. SO. I came home and decided to try it here. Well, the envelope took but was crooked and almost ripped the flap off.

I then decided to try scotch-blue to tape the flap down. BINGO. The tape holds it down but comes right off without making a mark or ripping my paper. amazing! :)

I will try again at the digital aquarium tomorrow :)

This printer is so aggressive it totally jacked the front of the envelope. Hopefully the DA will be a little more gentle!

Stationery...

not necessarily my final layout and the paper is actually a light manila and is kinda speckled? dont know if thats the right word to use.

signage symbols

Signage symbols

reference from History of Graphic Design

it was interesting to look through these

and the award goes to...

So yesterday was amazing. I went to see Santanu Majumdar's presentation (which was excellent btw). After I went ahead to the DA and printed my calendar which was due at 5:30. After that Heath, Barron, and I went to lunch at eats and then went to utrecht, paper source, and sam flax. We went to barron's after finding our stationery so I could mount my boards. I mounted my boards and we headed to school. Upon arriving I could not find my boards anywhere... I called drew, barrons roomate, and he found them in the road... evidently I left them on top of the car. I had to print and mount again because not only were they beat up but literally also had tire tracks on them.

oh and my calendar was for the sporadic... go figure.

moral of the story: dont leave your boards on the roof of your car.

Paper Source

although I found no paper... I walked out with a stuffed polar bear :)

It took me a while because I think I was making this harder than it actually is.

business card

So. I am still fiddling with my stationery but I think Ive got the business card.

I originally had the manila for the color of the card but I took that away for printing purposes.

I am still in the discovering process paper wise. I am looking for the perfect manila ha. I found a manila paper with a kind of speckled look. So far, I think its my favorite (out of the 2). The other is a regular plan old manila.

I don't know if you can tell in the one above but I actually cut out the actual fork. I used aluminum foil as a substitute but I was thinking it MIGHT be cool if like a dull metal came through to show a fork.. dunno. Just experimenting.

This above is just the print out, no cutting, no nothing.

Back of my card :)

Tell me what you think?!  I'm bringing in the comps I did tonight thursday! :)

business card train... woot.

obviously just an idea... as far as the eats logo on the card.. id like to make another stamp that kinda goes around it... i dont even think i necessarily want it in the middle. i do like the idea of the fork on the back. I want to play with the txt in the bottom right hand open space... dunno. we see.

1 thing i do know: i will have a front and back because i dont want the address challenging the "on ponce" given i just thought i will have to conquer that in my stationary.. one step at a time..

anyway just a quick idea

got my stamp on...

woot... looking for the right texture... shouldve done a lot of these a long time ago!

beautiful

I bought this calender at Sam Flax. Its like one of those "pull off the days" calenders... Its called Design Now! and its a 2009 Taschen Calender...

ANYWHO.. to the point.. I was a little late at pulling off the days but Jan 29th's image..

This watch is ABSOLUTELY amazing and I LOVE it... and want it. :)

It is designed to flip 90 degrees for "better use while motoring"... genius.

better late than never...

i made the late in capital letters so it reads more clearly and made the never outlined in dotted lines instead of a really light gray because it almost wasnt readable...
