Other than a few modifications to my work... this I suppose will be my last blog of the semester...

its kinda sad because over the semester (if you couldnt tell) I became slightly obsessed with blogging... it was tapped into my facebook ritual everyday.

That being said.. its very likely I will continue to blog over the summer :) hehe

Trying to keep it super cohesive with the DVD package. I wanted to incorporate facts... this poster is simple promo for the DVD.

I just printed these on my crap printer to make sure the circles were the right size and just work out placement issues... :)  once again not gorgeous photography... i havent gotten lights for my light box yet..

SOOO this was much more difficult than I expected. I will be making another comp before I apply to the program because now I know what to expect while putting it together :) (The box is a little wonkie..)

\Outside of my to go box :) Going to get it printed at Kinkos cause its 17 x 17.... not really looking forward to it at all... they better not screw up... (like they always do) if you know of any other options I might have when regarding printing this large please let me know :) (cause I really do hate kinkos)

So mayb Im crazy but I was super happy with the "abracadabra Pesto" that I came up with for my tshirt... I want to use it... and have with my togo box... which is why I decided to create an ad for that particular phrase:) not sure of the color...:)

the box will also will be printed on a like paper bag color type deal (which will match the mint tins). Think mayb the print on the box works better pushed back more?  :) I am going to work more on the label... not sure about the placement either...

So ive been super frustrated lately and it was so weird because in the car I got an immediate idea for both these and my togo box. The top (left column) will be printed on a like brown bag color which I will be searching for tomorrow (along with the togo box). The right column will go on the inside of the mint container. :) feedback would be fabulous

just sliced my thumb open with a box cutter... first time ive ever cut myself like this and i never want to experience it again.. :(

The picture will be different of the girl.. I am going to try to take 2 pics myself but I might have to use some from the internet because I want a foreign girl and also a girl from the US... to attack both DVD's. 

I still have a few touch ups... probably going to mute the colors a little so they are super bold.. i like how theyre muted on the front cover. The back of the outside cover will have some info about the DVDs.

Im happy... very close to being finished with this. :) 

no tshirt

I do like the tshirt but I dont think it is showing what I can do... therefore... I am doing a tin of mints and the packaging for a togo box.. I am going today to find my tin, and to find a good box for eats :) I am going to do 3 different designs for the mint tins and maybe a slight variation in the box. hopefully I will have some of it up tonight... I spent all night sketching and racking my brain so I pretty much have a good feel of the lay out of both :)

earth day

I have never actually used gradients and dont know if I am actually getting what I am trying to achieve here. I want it to just look like nothing.. ocean fading into the distance. Im thinking about mayb painting the background.. I just dont know.. I wanted to use a real picture but couldnt find anything that fit.

I am very passoniate about this issue, which is why I decided to focus my poster around it. I wanted to include information too. Is the WWF logo problematic? I wanted to include it because 1. I included the website 2. its where I got the information from. :)

is it bad if I dont have my full logo on my shirt? I also thought about cutting the phrase on the front out of a stamp just to give it that extra push? I dunno.

so far

SO I have decided to do a line of tshirts and a large sticker to package them. Tshirts are like free advertising :) The can be bought by the customers and also worn by the employees :) At first I was going to mimic my ads but Stan suggested to have like new saying that would tie into the ads so I ran with that. What do you think? As far as the color of the tshirts.. I have to investigate. I originally was going to have the best cheap eats in town on the back but the logo wouldve had to be small or broken up. I want the logo to have some time to stand on its own so thats why I am thinking about just having the logo big on the back. I want to have these done by at least sunday so I can start the process of making the shirts. I have a few ideas for the sticker wrap around meconism. we'll see. I also might do a tin of mints or gum or something.. :)

I thought about doing the shirts black and having them be like all white text and all white logo?? I dont know if that would work but its a possibility... I just love black shirts... :)

the gray circles are just where the DVD's will be located. I plan on doing something with them... like not gray... :) I am a little concerned about having the 2 handprints on the last panel.... we see.

prolly gunna throw in one more color too :)

DVD package

This is obviously a work in progress. Just what I have done tonight. 

Our project is to create a poster and DVD box set for a documentary on a Non-Profit organization or campaign. 

I chose to create an awareness campaign about the global issue of sex trafficking and the DVD package will contain real documentaries, one focused on eastern europe and asia and the second focused on America. 

I have a family friend that is a principle and I was able to get a few kids handprints today. I wanted to stick with an earthy tone, with black, white, and red. 

The inside will have many different survivor excerts. The 2 blank parts of the outside package of the DVD at the top will have facts (like numbers and percentages) The front and back has "sex trafficking" in almost every imaginable language to imply it is a global issue. I had that before I did the inside and now am searching for a way to have everything tie together... I am hanging on this concept for dear life.. if anyone has any suggestions, Id be very appreciative.

Anywho this is what I have so far...

starting my portfolio

SO, I went to the digital today and printed out everything that I have so far that is finished. I decided to mount today too... the first 3 prints I totally screwed up.. but after that I got the hang of it... moral: dont wait.. trust me. things always go wrong, especially when they arent anticipated.

one thing that did cheer me up is that homeward bound is on tv right now.. hehe :)

might run with this one...

I've been thinking a lot about my specialty item. I am now thinking about doing like a club card that when you eat at Eats you rack up points and you get rewards... I trying to think of a creative approach to it. It would run like a credit card keeping track of all your points and like every so many points you would get a free entree type deal or free topping on your pasta... 

and then also make like a table tent that advertises it.

just brainstorming.

specialty item

So I have been pondering doing something besides the signage in the restaurant. I feel like maybe I should do something more promotional or I might do this also.. I thought about doing a billboard... since they have 2 on top of the restaurant and pull the style from my ads but do something different.. I do plan on taking their logo off the side of the wall and putting mine there haha :)

I also thought about a small tin mint container, or mini pins.. I dont know I will be brainstorming more tomorrow.. well see.

And yes that is heath in my photos.. haha :)
