I think ive worked out the 8.5x11 ad, I am just not sure which of the 2 I prefer. After stepping away from the computer it is easier for me to accept the top one, sean u were right. I think that is probably the one I am going to use. :) 

80s feel

the bottom 2 are out. I decided to play with the txt more because sarah was right it didnt really look like the I took time placing the font. tell me what you think about the type and the dripping stars? I like this one a lot better. I really want to have an early 80s feel and a lot of the posters I saw had flush left and I think it works. Obviously flush right wouldnt work and I really didnt want to center it. 

Thought about cutting MTV and making him green so I incorporate all of the colors.. I want to incorporate MTV but it is just bothering me.

The first is the latest.. it goes backwards as far as progression goes. Im pretty happy with #1. :)

Looking for input.

I am working on the collaborative project for paiges class.. we had to pick something from the past and she gave us the 3 colors I used and we could also use shades of these colors. I chose video killed the radio star :) This is what I have so far and would really appreciate feed back. If you are wondering about the image, I did a sketch from the actual music video :)

Id really like some opinions about the background.. I feel kinda lost and Im looking for ideas.

So by this time Im sure everyone knows I dont sleep... well much. Plus I get addicted to projects.

Type is a puzzle and when you figure it out it is so rewarding. Love it.

I think Im gunna go through and play with "fed us suspicions and fears"... its bothering me because the us is bigger than really anything in the piece and I would rather the us at the end be more of a focal pt.

This is just something I started tonight... Im not really dead on font or how the txt is placed. liked it at first but now is getting bothersome. But the background is something that will stay and I love. Oh. the poem will of course stay too ha.

There are a few things Ive got to fix... lighting etc. You also can see the box reflection in the bottle which is annoying. If anyone has any tips PLEASE leave a comment :)

 I also want to be futher back from the bottles. 

I am probably going to re-do the bottles and labels also.

made some modifications

I took off the black border around my face. I had that initially because I was going to make the background black like the original picture. Now I think it looks SO much better without since I have a white background.

contemplating

doing a side project. I saw that some people had like a poster they made in type with a poem. Im thinking about doing one just because.

The poem I want to use is:

"First, they put away the dealers. Then, the put away the prostitutes. Then, they shooed away the bums and beat and bash the queers. Turned away asylum-seekers. Fed us suspicions and fears. We didn't raise our voice. We didn't make a fuss. It's funny, there was no one left to notice when they came for us."

I guess Im just really moved by this and would love to create a poster, it might be too long of a poem though.

We'll see.

Im super excited. Ive been trying to come up with something that will tie in vegetables. I noticed they have green beans, black beans.. etc. I remembered "Beans, beans the magical fruit" hahaha :) or I could use musical, either is funny.

OK. SINCE I was having such a wonderful time trying to find placement for the logo, I came up with the idea to insert it in my tag line... how do you feel about that? If this works it will continue this way thoughout all my ads. Once again info.. not sure...

I also thought since the other ads the food is the focal point maybe I should do this here too. Its still funny and I think its ties all of them together.

I went with a font by the name of ursaserif. I am pretty happy with the placement of both sentences, 2 different variations. Oh, do you think using "ur" instead of "your" is ok? As far as the logo and info... not really set on that. Colorwise I am going to play around and try and branch out of red, brown, and green :)

SOOOO. I cant sleep because my mind is so concentrated on the GRD test tomorrow, my ads, and my type self portrait. ANYWHO. So Ive been exploring a few things for my ads. This is just one idea that kinda just hit me (kinda cheesy-ish, I know). I thought about doing ads that are only type no images. I also have come up with a few other idea that could involve photography. anywho. this is completely a rough layout. I am probably going to explore a different font for the ad instead of the one I used for my logo. Something similar, sans serif, mayb more of a straight edge... I am kinda bothered about everything being centered but again I will say this is just my starting point.
